How to abolish Depression and Anxiety in Young Girls?


Anxiety and depression can occur in both genders, female and male. Anxiety is “a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease about something with an uncertain outcome” and depression “is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act”. Yet findings show that one out of every eight adolescents has teen depression and anxiety. Depression is more common in teenage girls than boys.

Common symptoms of anxiety include:

  • Feeling twitchy
  • Uneasy or restless
  • Being easily fatigued
  • Disturbance while sleeping
  • Muscle pain

Symptoms of depression can include:

  • Always feel angry
  • Pessimism
  • Worthlessness and feeling of guilt
  • Loss of interest in hobbies
  • Loss of interest in daily life activities
  • Thought of death and suicide


Girls are nearly twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with depression. There is no specific age of depression it can occur at any age. Girls are more likely to develop depression at an early age than boys. Maybe, the girls get more depressed due to the hormone changes during puberty. However, temporary mood swings are normal during specific days in the month, we cannot call it depression. If the same condition remains the same throughout a few weeks and you feel ill, then you are under depression and anxiety. Depression rate is higher in females than male, after puberty. Because girls reached puberty earlier than the boys do.

The question is how we can abolish the anxiety and depression in young girls? There are different ways through which the girls can get rid of anxiety. First of all, make a habit of a daily morning walk, this will surely help you to calm your mind. Make a habit of exercise, that will keep you healthy and tension free. Exercise will help you to divert your focus from strain things in your life. Yoga is the best exercise for a stressful mind. Secondly, the young girls of this age are always busy in their mobiles. They are more concern about social media. Young girls have no time for their family, so they cannot feel easy and comfortable, they always feel alone and depressed.

If we handle these diseases (anxiety and depression) in a religious way, we can say that young girls of our society more likely to do parties and dance. If we talk about Islam, these things are not allowed to a Muslim girl. we cannot talk about only Islam but any religion. If we talk about Christianity, a young girl in that society does not want, any person to interfere in her matter, that’s why she always feels alone and depressed. They want to be independent. And their independence keeps them alone and depressed. Girls are expert in hiding their pain with a smiling face. This is another reason why girls feel depressed.

We can say that there are several reasons for depression and anxiety in young girls. They can avoid this anxiety in different ways. If a girl tries to live her life with her family and according to the teaching of her religion. She will never get depressed. If she lives with her family she surely gets the love and care from them. And always feel happy, there would be no risk of depression and anxiety.
