Women are part and parcel of society. The empowerment of women contributes greatly to a country’s development. Empowerment of women generally refers to the expansion of freedom of choice and action to shape one’s life. It involves control of resources and decisions. An empowered woman is one who is self-confident, analyzes her environment critically and exercises control over decisions that affect her life. At all levels of social interaction, the idea of empowerment manifests itself. It can be found in giving the weak and marginalized a voice. It requires access to the tools and materials required for capacity expansion. The empowerment of women has five components: 1. Women’s self – esteem. 2. Their right to choose and determine choices. 3. Their right to access opportunities and resources. 4. Their right of controlling their lives both at home and abroad. 5. Their ability to influence the direction of social change As the create a fairer social and economic order at national and international level. As the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah said, “No nation can rise to the height of glory unless your women are side by side with you; we are victims of evil customs. It is a crime against humanity that our women are shut up within the four walls of the houses as prisoners. There is no sanction anywhere for the deplorable condition in which our women have to live”. In general, few people misconceive that women’s empowerment and gender are a foreign agenda, but their only misconception that women have faced challenges and gender inequalities all over the world since the beginning of history. If we seek help from our Glorious Quran and the Hadith, it is clear that they both emphasize the protection of women’s rights, including education rights, worship, Opinion and spousal choice. Every country in the world has undoubtedly taken many measures to increase women’s participation in the economic sphere, but instead, women’s status in society needs to be upgraded and can only be protected legally and mentally. Access and control of resources should be given to her. Access and control of resources should be given to her. Women should have platforms that enable them to brush up their talents and use them positively. In order to eradicate the ignorance of confining women, we should all stand together and work together to implement it. An effective mechanism for women in decision-making at all levels should be institutionalized. Gender studies should be included in the curriculum from a secondary level, the provision of women’s friendly infrastructure and environment at work, research and documentation on women’s achievements and the launch of awareness-raising campaigns for gender and development among citizens.
